Exploring the things to come...
An eschatology resource for a Bride prepared.
The painting on the left reflects the parable Jesus told in Matthew 25:1-13. It portrays the ten virgins who waited to meet the Bridegroom; five of them were wise and five were foolish.
In our context, Jesus is the Bridegroom and the virgins are church-goers. The oil in their lamps represents our relationship with Jesus.
The painting captures the state of the Church today. The artist is making us aware that, whatever our beliefs about eschatology, we need to be ready to meet Jesus, our Bridegroom. To not be ready is to be assigned a place with the lost.
This site utilizes a visual approach to study the end times through charts, illustrations and schematics. It allows us to look deeper at issues by visually defining things in new and creative ways. In doing this, we often find things we weren't looking for. The purpose is to make new discoveries, and ultimately, discover God's heart of love and compassion.

We are also living in 'Elijah Days' - a reference to the life of the prophet Elijah. Just as he squared off with Jezebel's kingdom and overcame forces of darkness, we are now in a spiritual battle with gods of this world that are bent on rulership of our society. Elijah saw God move and establish His authority, and in the last days, the end-time Church will also.
As certain trials, testings and pressures approach, Jesus tells us not to fear. Faith in Him protects during storms. Mark 8:37-39 And there arose a fierce gale of wind, and the waves were breaking over the boat so much that the boat was already filling up. Jesus Himself was in the stern, asleep on the cushion; and they woke Him and said to Him, "Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?" And He got up and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, "Hush, be still." And the wind died down and it became perfectly calm. |
Pictures
An image of a ship in a storm can be a reminder that God is in control of His universe, even when it appears that all hope may be lost. Storms at sea are particularly dramatic because of the utter helplessness that sailors can experience. In the end times, we may encounter various storms that would leave us with the feeling we are "holding on for dear life," and only God can save us from peril. We must remember that Jesus was fast asleep in the boat, at peace, when the disciples thought they were going to drown. A picture of a lighthouse can also be a reminder - of the peace and protection available to us by the power of God. A lighthouse is there to show the way during times of darkness. Similarly, God's light can point us in safe directions if we recognize it. Peace increases as we allow the light of His knowledge and understanding to lead us. |
